My 12 Top Tips For Internet Marketers

My First Gramps Post

Yes, this now IS my first official post as “Gramps of the Golden Pen”.
If I don’t boost myself, who else will?? – Haha.
I’ve scratched my old noddle and put together 12 of the most important factors you should consider and work on whilst you get stuck into your first 3 months of Blogging!

Even if you don’t initially intend to be a Marketer you need read into these – the past few years have shown me how important they can be to achieving satisfaction from your Online Work.

I will keep coming back to these tips in my future posts as I need to expand on some with much more detail for you, and no doubt you will have questions for me – I’ll do my best to answer you honestly and with my views.

My 12 Top Tips

1. Choose one blogging style or one method of internet marketing to try first, and see that through till you can decide if it is one that you will pursue further by:

  • Results

  • Your enjoyment

  • Its scalability

You can try another later, but don’t leap about from one thing to another or you will surely fail, like the 95% of would-be online marketers who never make the grade.

2. Search for good “evergreen” niches. A great niche is essential to your success as an internet marketer but you will probably stick with it better if it is one that really interests you. Research the Niche you are entering, you will need buyers and a ready market looking for what you will produce. Establish yourself first – you can innovate later.

3. Create a blog, this will help you to brand yourself and build a good fan base that you can sell your ideas to. You can also make money through your blog and use it as a base for expansion by building a list of subscribers and buyers – use an Autoresponder as soon as you can.

4. Have a schedule with set Check Lists for your daily work. Only this one essential will put you ahead of the majority of your competition. It will keep you organized and on track to success.

5. Organize your working area, don’t leave your desktop scattered and piled high. Keep all your online tools and check sheets in specific folders (both on and off the PC/Laptop) where you can locate them easily. This will save you lots of time and frustration, and believe me I find this tip very hard to follow!

6. Practise writing, it’s such an important part of internet marketing. You will find that as you practise more and more your efforts will bear more fruit.

7. Be professional and ethical in your business dealings. Never try to trick, deceive or tell lies about your product because if you do, people will find you out – and they will never trust you again.

8. Regularly produce relevant content and use Images, Graphics and Videos to liven up your Articles/Posts. Use your material to help brand yourself. People will usually prefer to buy from someone they “know, like, and trust”.

9. Learn basic copywriting skills. Online advertising is only a part of internet marketing, but it is an important element of the whole.

10. Stamp out any negativity. It will pull you down and make you believe that marketing is a waste of time. So try to be positive all the time, take breaks, and you will achieve your targets.
Try to have a moment of relaxation if you feel stressed out.

11. Always backup your work, many internet marketing businesses have failed because of a crashed computer or a hacked web site. Schedule routine back ups of databases, full sites, and your computer files and keep them in safe places. Always protect your system with firewalls and anti-virus programs and frequently check that all is well.

12. Never allow your domain(s) to expire except by intention. If your domain goes, then so does your site, along with all your hard work (and possibly your income source)!

Ok Boss, just working on my new Autoresponder this morning.
I’ve been sorting out plugins that I need – Legal Pages, Optin, Content Aides etc, and looking for a better theme.
Grandsons due here shortly though, and we’re looking after them for 4 days this next week too, so time will be limited.
    Cheers, Gramps

Glad to say I finished Grandma’s Task List in time to get busy with my Golden Pen (a battered Refurbished Dell PC) and finish off my first list of tips. I hope 12 won’t be too many for you – it’s more difficult to step back to my early days than I thought it would be but i think these are the main points for me to stress (and I’ll explain them in more detail when we get going).
